The US Sailing Association is the national governing body for the sport of sailing in the United States. Organized in 1897, the organization is recognized by Congress under the Amateur Sports Act of 1978 to represent all aspects of sailing.

International
Sailing School Association
The International Sailing School Association is a non-profit organization
established in 1968 on the initiative of the Centre Nautique de Glenans and
the Polish, Italian and British schools, with the objective of giving
international recognition to a growing number of sailing schools. The ISSA
includes members from 16 countries spanned across three continents. Ocean
Sailing Academy is a supporting member in efforts to help promote the sport
of sailing worldwide.
The goals of the ISSA are:

Grouping,
promoting, favoring and reinforcing on the international level, all
institutions teaching sailing.

Promoting
sailing through teaching, initiation, improvement and competition - in
collaboration with other International Water-Sports Associations (ISAF).
ISSA aims to achieve these goals by:
